Why do I need a CEX API key?
Section titled “Why do I need a CEX API key?”Aegis hedges LP impermanent loss by opening short futures positions on a centralized exchange. To execute futures orders on your behalf, the Aegis bot needs API credentials with futures trading permission.
Your LP wallet is a read-only public address — it is used only for scanning on-chain positions. The bot never interacts with your LP wallet or holds LP funds. The API key provides access only to your futures/trading account on the exchange.
Can Aegis withdraw my funds?
Section titled “Can Aegis withdraw my funds?”No. By design, Aegis uses trading-only API permissions. Withdraw, internal transfer, and bank/fiat withdrawal permissions are explicitly disabled as a requirement. The bot can only open and close futures positions.
See API Keys Overview for the full permission matrix and FAQ Security for details on how credentials are stored.
What is the minimum capital to use Aegis?
Section titled “What is the minimum capital to use Aegis?”A minimum capital requirement exists for the beta period. The bot requires sufficient exchange margin to open positions at the configured leverage. The exact minimum depends on position size, leverage, and the exchange’s minimum order requirements.
During the current beta, access is subject to the following operational capital caps per tier:
| Tier | Capital cap |
|---|---|
| Beta | Up to $1K |
| Operator | Up to $5K |
| Pro | Up to $20K |
| Scale | Up to $100K |
| Desk | Unlimited |
These caps define eligibility limits for beta participation — they are not a minimum deposit requirement, a return guarantee, or a promise of continued availability at any tier. Only the Beta tier is currently active.
No specific capital amount is guaranteed to produce results. Aegis is a hedging tool, not an investment product. Past behavior in any configuration is not indicative of future results.
Which bot types are live?
Section titled “Which bot types are live?”Bastion, Vanguard, and Orbit are live in the current beta. Vault, Scout, and Grid are planned for future releases. See the Bots section for documentation on each bot type.
