Margin Balance Error

A margin balance error occurs when one of the following conditions is true:

  • Exchange API unreachable — the Aegis bot cannot query the exchange to read the current margin balance (connectivity or exchange downtime)
  • Balance below minimum — the futures account balance on the exchange is below the minimum required to open or maintain the configured hedge position
  1. Check the exchange status page for outages or planned maintenance
  2. Wait for connectivity to recover — Aegis will retry automatically

  1. Log in to your exchange account
  2. Check the available balance in your futures/trading account
  3. Deposit additional funds to meet the minimum margin requirement
  4. Verify the leverage setting in your Aegis strategy — reducing leverage lowers the required margin; see Leverage and Margin
  5. If the strategy has a configured capitalBufferPct, verify the buffer is not consuming more capital than available; see Risk Parameters

If neither condition applies and the error persists, contact Aegis support with the details from the dashboard activity log.
